Welcome to the Okinawa Chapter of AFCEA.  We are located in Okinawa, Japan.  This is Japan’s southern prefectures, and consists of hundreds of the Ryuku Islands.





Okinawa is home to MCB Camp S. D. Butler, which includes Camp Kinser, MCAS Futenma, Camp Foster, Camp Courtney, Camp Hansen, Camp Schwab, Camp Gonsalves and Camp Fuji on mainland Japan.

Okinawa is also home to Marine Corps installations Pacific and III Marine Expeditionary Forces which consists of three other major subordinate commands – 3d Marine Logistics Group, and 1st Marine Aircraft Wing.  The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit is also located in Okinawa.

Okinawa is also home to Kadena Air Base and is the hub of airpower in the Pacific, and home to the Air Forces’s largest combat wing – the 18th Wing – and a variety of associate units.

As such, communications, computers, intelligence, and electronics play a very important role in the missions of the diverse elements aboard the base.  Professionals serving in these fields include active duty military, government civilian employees, and defense contractors.
